Dedicated to the memory of
"There is no difference between us.
We’re the same.
The only difference is that you can see my suffering and I can’t see yours.
If I were to see your suffering, what would you look like?"
- Michael Newman
Michael was a highly intelligent mastermind with a hysterical sense of humor, witt, charm and a passion for art and the beauty of nature.
Michael lived with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is a terminal illness which leads to severe weakening of the muscles.
"When you see a kid like me in school, come up to me and shake my hand because I can't shake yours"
Michael was an artist himself although he had very little hand movement yet created beautiful sketches beginning at art classes he participated in at Northern Illinois University.

Michael H Newman gave speeches to large audiences of teens and young adults who were on spiritual weekend retreats.
"I wish all people could just see me for who I really am."
